The Plank Road Folk Music Society’s Future
The Plank Road Folk Music Society has had a long and successful history of promoting folk music in the United States. As the popularity of folk music has grown in recent years, so has the society’s membership. The society is currently at a crossroads, however, as it debates what direction to take in the future.
There are two main schools of thought within the society on how to best promote folk music. The first is that the society should focus on educational initiatives, such as organizing Folk Music 101 courses and hosting workshops on how to play folk instruments. The second is that the society should focus on organizing concert events featuring both up-and-coming and established folk musicians.
Both approaches have their merits, but it remains to be seen which one will ultimately prevail. Whichever path the society chooses to take, one thing is certain: the future of folk music in America looks bright.
