Introduction

Hi everyone! I am a HUGE fan of the Pokemon franchise, and one of my favorite things about the games are the evolution scenes. They are so satisfying to watch, especially when your favorite Pokemon finally evolves. And of course, the music that plays during these scenes is always so hype.

I decided to take some of my favorite evolution scenes and set them to dubstep remixes, and I think the results are pretty awesome. I hope you all enjoy!

What is Dubstep?

Dubstep is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in South London in the late 1990s. It is generally characterized by sparse, syncopated rhythmic patterns with prominent sub-bass frequencies. The style emerged as an offshoot of UK garage, drawing on a lineage of related styles such as 2-step and dub reggae. In the United Kingdom, the earliest dubstep releases date back to 1998.

The term “dubstep” in reference to a genre of music began to be used by around 2002 by labels such as Big Apple, Ammunition, and Tempa, by which time stylistic trends used in creating these remixes started to become more noticeable and distinct from 2-step and grime. In 2005, instrumental grime was increasingly referred to as “dubstep”, leading to debates about whether the association between the two genres was accurate or helpful at all; NME commented that “dubstep” had gone from being “an interesting new development” to becoming “this massively hyped scene everyone’s talking about”.

The History of Dubstep

Originating in the early 2000s, dubstep is a genre of electronic dance music characterized by heavy bass and percussion, as well as rhythmic foreground elements. The style first emerged in the London underground music scene, and was later popularized in the mainstream by artists such as Skrillex and Benga.

Dubstep typically features tempo ranges from around 140 to 160 beats per minute (BPM), and frequently incorporates elements from other genres such as grime, 2-step, and drum and bass. The genre is often associated with the “wobble” bass sound, which is created by using low-frequency oscillators to modulate the pitch of the bass notes.

Despite its relatively short history, dubstep has had a significant impact on the electronic dance music scene, and has also been featured in various film, television, and video game soundtracks.

The Evolution of Dubstep

Dubstep has undergone a fascinating evolution over the past decade. What started out as a niche genre of electronic dance music has become a global phenomenon, with artists and producers fusing it with other styles to create new and exciting sounds.

In its early days, dubstep was typified by dark, minimalistic beats and found its home in underground clubs in London. Producers such as Skream and Benga were pushing the boundaries of the genre, experimenting with new sounds and textures. It wasn’t long before dubstep started to gain traction outside of the UK, with artists like Burial and Mount Kimbie gaining international acclaim.

As dubstep continued to grow in popularity, producers began to experiment with different ways of incorporating it into their music. This led to the emergence of subgenres like wonky dubstep and future garage, which took the sound in new directions. At the same time, dubstep began to cross over into other genres like hip hop and trap, resulting in some truly unique sounds.

Today, dubstep is more popular than ever before. Artists like Flume and Hippie Sabotage are pushing the sound in new directions, while names like Skream and Benga continue to be at the forefront of the genre. With so much diversity within dubstep, there’s something for everyone – so dive in and explore this fascinating world of sound!

The Future of Dubstep

As electronic music steadily gains popularity around the world, new subgenres and fusions are constantly being born. One of the latest trends to emerge from this creative melting pot is pokemon dubstep.
