The Fratellis

The Fratellis are a Scottish rock band from Glasgow, formed in 2005. The band consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Jon Francis, bass guitarist and backing vocalist Barry Wallace, and drummer and backing vocalist Gordon McRory. The Fratellis released their debut album Costello Music in the UK on 11 September 2006. It entered the UK Albums Chart at Number 2 behind Lilly Allen’s Alright, Still.

The band’s second album Here We Stand was released on 5 May 2008 and charted at Number 4 in the UK. We Need Medicine, the band’s third studio album, was released on 8 October 2012 and reached Number 3 in the UK. The Fratellis have been nominated for a Brit Award, an NME Award and have won two Kerrang! Awards.

The Kooks

The Kooks are a British rock band formed in Brighton in 2004. The band’s classic line-up consisted of Luke Pritchard (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Hugh Harris ( lead guitar), Paul Garred (drums), and Max Rafferty (bass guitar). The band’s first album, Inside In/Inside Out, was released in 2006 and reached #2 on the UK Albums Chart. It was nominatd for the Mercury Prize, and won Best British Album at the 2007 Brit Awards. The band’s follow-up album, Konk, was released in 2008 and reached #1 on the UK Albums Chart.

The Wombats

The Wombats are an English rock band formed in Liverpool in 2003. The band comprises native Liverpudlians Matthew Murphy (lead vocals, guitar, synth), Dan Haggis (drums, backing vocals) and Norwegian-born Tord Øverland-Knudsen (bass, backing vocals). The band’s name was taken from a curiosity shop found by Murph during a trip to New York City.

The Wombats have released four studio albums: their debut A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation (2007); This Modern Glitch (2011), which reached number six on the UK Albums Chart; Glitterbug (2015); and Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life (2018). All four albums spawned top 20 singles in the UK. “Moving to New York” was their biggest hit however, spending 19 weeks in the UK Singles Chart and peaking at number 13. In October 2018, they were nominated for Best British Group at the 2018 Brit Awards.

“Chelsea Dagger” is a song by Scottish rock band The Fratellis. It was released on 7 August 2006 as the second single from their debut album Costello Music (2006). The song peaked at number 3 on the UK Singles Chart in October 2006 and was certified Silver by the BPI in February 2007. It was nominated for the Brit Award for Best British Single at the 2007 ceremony.

The song’s title refers to Chelsea Football Club’s Stamford Bridge home ground, and the club’s supporters who are known to sing it regularly at matches.

“Naive” – The Kooks

“Naive” is a song by English rock band The Kooks. It was released on 16 January 2006 as the lead single from their debut studio album, Inside In/Inside Out (2006). It peaked at number 22 on the UK Singles Chart in January 2006. The song was written by the band’s frontman Luke Pritchard.

“Let’s Dance to Joy Division” – The Wombats
