Pop Smoke’s Career

Pop Smoke’s career was tragically cut short when he was fatally shot in February 2020, but the late rapper still made a huge impact in the music industry. His debut album, “Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon,” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and became one of the most popular hip-hop albums of 2020. The Future of Pop Smoke

The late rapper Pop Smoke was posthumously honored with three awards at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night, including top rap artist.

Pop Smoke, who was shot and killed in February at the age of 20, won the awards for top rap album for “Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon”, top rap song for “Dior” and top rap artist.

The album “Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in July and has spent four nonconsecutive weeks at the top spot. The album has been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Pop Smoke’s award wins come as no surprise given his tremendous success in the short time he was active in the music industry. He is posthumously nominated for four Grammy Awards, including best new artist, best rap performance and best rap song.

Since his death, there have been numerous tributes to him, including a benefit concert in Brooklyn that featured performances from Lil Tjay, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Meek Mill and more. His family has also established The Pop Smoke Foundation to help underprivileged youth in his hometown of Brooklyn.
