First up we have “Oblivion” by American post rock band Isis. This track is taken from their 2006 album In the Absence of Truth, and it features some beautifully atmospheric guitar work. If you’re a fan of bands like Mogwai or Godspeed You! Black Emperor, then Isis is definitely worth checking out.

Next we have “A Question” by British psych rock band The Amorphous Androgynous. This song is taken from their 1994 album Tales of Ephidrina, and it features some mind-bending melodies and trippy sound effects. Finally we have “Mellow Mosquito” by Japanese post rock band Mono. Today’s music recommendation is a perfect way to get through the midweek slump. We’ve got two albums for you that explore the boundaries of rock music and will leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

First up is “In the Court of the Crimson King” by King Crimson. This 1969 classic is considered one of the first and most important works in the genre of progressive rock. It’s a concept album that tells the story of an apocalyptic event, and its music is nothing short of epic. From the opening track, “21st Century Schizoid Man,” with its manic energy and Robert Fripp’s revolutionary guitar work, to the beautiful closing ballad “I Talk to the Wind,” this album is a journey you won’t soon forget.

RNA – Cigarettes After Sex
Cigarettes After Sex is an American ambient pop band that formed in 2008. Their music is slow, dreamy, and often compared to the work of artists like Mazzy Star and weeping shoegaze bands like My Bloody Valentine. This track is from their 2017 self-titled debut album, and it’s the perfect song for a hazy summer afternoon.

Float On – The Jesuits

Today, we’re starting off with a light and airy track from the band Loscil. If you’re not familiar with Loscil, they’re a Canadian post-rock band who have been around since the early 2000s. This track is from their album Submers, which was released in 2005.

The track is called “First Light” and it clocks in at just over five minutes. It starts with a simple piano melody that is joined by some light percussion and atmospheric synths. The song builds slowly and never really reaches a crescendo, but that’s part of its charm. It’s the perfect song to start your Sunday morning off right.

If you’re looking for something a little more upbeat, we’ve got you covered too. This next track is from the Japanese post-rock band MONO. It’s called “Lost In The Air” and it comes from their 2008 album Hymn to the Immortals.
