The best reggae music awards of 2019 have been announced. Check out the list of winners and listen to their music.

Grammy Awards

The Grammy Awards aremusic awards presented annually by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. The nine award categories are: Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Reggae Album.

Reggae artists nominated for Grammy Awards in 2019 included Shaggy, Buju Banton, Chronixx, Ziggy Marley, Stephen Marley, Beres Hammond, Rebelution, and so many more.

BET Awards

BET International announced the winners of the sixth edition of the BET Awards which were held in Lagos, Nigeria on October 5, 2019. The awards ceremony, which was hosted by actress and television personality Erica Ash, was held at the Eko Hotel and Suites and was televised live on BET Networks.

The BET Awards recognize artists across multiple genres who have made an impact on black culture globally. This year’s awards show featured performances by Nigerian artists Davido, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy, and Mr Eazi. American R&B singer Tank also took the stage to perform his hit song “I Can’t Make You Love Me.”

In addition to honoring musical artists, the BET Awards also recognize individuals who have made contributions to social justice movements. This year’s award for Humanitarian of the Year went to Nigerian singer-songwriter Davido for his work with the Davido Foundation, which provides assistance to underprivileged children in Nigeria.

Billboard Music Awards

The Billboard Music Awards are awards given out annually by Billboard magazine. The awards are based on sales data by Nielsen SoundScan and radio information by Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems. The award ceremony features performances by popular musicians, and some awards are presented in front of a larger audience than that of the Grammy Awards.

This year, the award for best reggae album went to Koffee for her debut album, “Rapture.” The 19-year-old singer from Kingston, Jamaica beat out Ziggy Marley, Shaggy, and Alborosie for the honor.

American Music Awards

The American Music Awards (AMAs) is an annual American music awards show, generally held in the fall, created by Dick Clark in 1973 for ABC when the network’s contract to air the Grammy Awards expired. It is the first of the Big Three music award shows held annually (the others being the Grammy Awards and the Billboard Music Awards). Unlike the Grammys, which are awarded on the basis of votes by members of the Recording Academy, the AMAs are determined by a poll of music buyers and listeners. The awards are presented in multiple musical categories, which vary from year to year. The AMAs have frequently been broadcast live on ABC and CBS.

Soul Train Music Awards

The Soul Train Music Awards is an annual music awards show which honors the best in Black music and entertainment. It is produced by the makers of Soul Train, the syndicated television program which aired from 1971 to 2006. The show features performances by various R&B andSoul artists, and it is traditionally held on the first Sunday in November. The Soul Train Music Awards is one of the few award shows that focus exclusively on African-American music.

The 2019 ceremony will be held on November 3, 2019 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

iHeartRadio Music Awards

The iHeartRadio Music Awards is an annual music awards show that honors music played on iHeartRadio stations and the iHeartRadio app. The show features performances from top artists in various genres, as well as award presentations.

MOBO Awards

The MOBO (Music of Black Origin) Awards were established in 1996 by Kanya King MBE and Andy Ruffell. The awards show is held annually in the United Kingdom to recognize artists of any nationality performing black music. genres include R&B, pop, grime, hip hop, dancehall, reggae, soul and gospel. The awards are presented in various categories, with the award for Best Reggae Act being presented annually since 1997.

Reggae Grammy Awards

The reggae Grammy Awards are bestowed upon recordings in the reggae genre by The Recording Academy, which presenting the awards. They were first given in 1985 and since then, various artists have been honored with the accolade.

The most recent reggae Grammy Awards were handed out in 2019, with Damian Marley taking home the award for Best Reggae Album for his record Stony Hill. As the son of legendary reggae artist Bob Marley, Damian has become a big name in the genre himself, and has won three Grammy Awards in total.

Other nominees in the category included Ziggy Marley (Bob’s other son) for his self-titled album, as well as J Boog, Common Kings, and Protoje.
