Reggae music has been around for decades and has continuously evolved throughout the years. There are many different subgenres of reggae, each with its own unique sound and style. While some reggae artists have remained popular throughout the years, others have faded into obscurity.

The following is a list of some of the best reggae artists of all time, in no particular order.

Bob Marley
Bob Marley is without a doubt the most famous reggae artist of all time. He is credited with popularizing the genre outside of Jamaica and is responsible for some of the genre’s most iconic songs, such as “No Woman, No Cry” and “One Love”. Marley’s influence on music is still felt today, more than 25 years after his death.

Bunny Wailer
Bunny Wailer was one of Bob Marley’s closest friends and collaborators. He was a member of the iconic reggae group The Wailers along with Marley and Peter Tosh. He is considered one of the pioneers of Jamaican reggae music and has released several acclaimed solo albums.

Peter Tosh
Peter Tosh was another member of The Wailers. He was a successful solo artist in his own right and was known for his militant political views. Tosh was assassinated in 1987, but his music continues to be popular today.

Burning Spear
Burning Spear is a Jamaican reggae band that was formed in the 1970s by singer Winston Rodney. The band is known for its roots-reggae sound and its politically conscious lyrics. Burning Spear has released more than 20 albums and has been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards.

Culture
Culture is a Jamaican reggae band that was formed in 1976 by singer Joseph Hill. The band’s music combines elements of roots reggae, dub, and slackness (a Jamaican Patois term used to describe lazy or unkempt behavior). Culture has released 13 studio albums and is still active today.
