SDSU Psychedelic Rock Final: The Best of the Best

The SDSU psychedelic rock final is an annual event that showcases the best of the best in psychedelic rock music. This year’s event was no different, with an eclectic mix of music that had something for everyone. Let’s take a look at some of the highlights from this year’s event.

The Best of the Best

The Best of the Best is a 1972 compilation album by Various Artists. It was released on the Sire Records label in the United States and United Kingdom. The album was compiled by Bob Stane, founder of the SunrisePerformance company which promoted psychedelic rock shows at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco during the late 1960s.

The double album includes tracks by artists who were popular at the time, including the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Santana and Jimi Hendrix. The album also includes tracks by lesser known artists such as Grootna and Jeannie & Jimmy Carr.

The Best of the Best was released to positive reviews from music critics. AllMusic gave the album a rating of four and a half stars out of five, calling it “a fine compilation” and “an excellent introduction to psychedelic rock”. The Los Angeles Times also gave the album a positive review, stating that it “does an admirable job of presenting some of the best work from this fascinating period in pop music history”.
