SiriusXM is excited to announce the launch of a new channel dedicated to Electronic Dance Music. The channel will feature the best in EDM, from the industry’s biggest names to the newest and hottest up-and-comers.

SiriusXM to launch new electronic dance music channel

SiriusXM will soon be offering a new way to get your groove on with the launch of its newest channel, Electric Area.

The channel, which will debut on Friday, May 31, will feature electronic dance music (EDM) from a variety of genres including house, techno, drum and bass, trance and more. SiriusXM says that Electric Area will also offer listeners “a front-row seat to the biggest electronic dance music festivals” and will feature DJ sets and live performances.

In addition to music, the new channel will also offer news, interviews and commentary from some of the biggest names in the EDM scene. Among those who will be featured on Electric Area are Tiesto, Skrillex, Steve Aoki, Deadmau5 and more.

Electric Area will replace SiriusXM’s Pulse channel on Friday at 5:00 pm ET. Pulse had been airing a mix of pop, dance and R&B hits since it launched in 2005.

What this means for SiriusXM subscribers

Starting this Friday, SiriusXM will launch a new 24/7 electronic dance music channel on channel 52. The channel, which will be called Electric Area, will feature “a mix of the biggest DJs and EDM artists” from around the world.

This marks the first time that SiriusXM has devoted an entire channel to electronic dance music. The move comes as the popularity of EDM continues to grow in the United States; last year, for example, the Electric Daisy Carnival drew more than 340,000 people to Las Vegas.

Electric Area will feature music from artists such as Avicii, deadmau5, Calvin Harris, Tiesto, and Guetta. In addition to music, the channel will also offer SiriusXM subscribers access to DJ sets and live performances.

What this means for the electronic dance music industry

The launch of SiriusXM’s new electronic dance music channel is a positive development for the industry as a whole. This new channel will help to promote and grow the genre, as well as expose listeners to a variety of new and unsigned artists. In addition, the channel will provide a valuable platform for artists to promote their music and connect with fans.

Starting on May 1, SiriusXM will launch a new electronic dance music (EDM) channel called BPM (Channel 51). The channel will feature a mix of dance hits, including those from artists like Calvin Harris, Tiësto, and Steve Aoki.

BPM will also offer specialized programming blocks devoted to specific sub-genres of EDM, such as house and trance. In addition, the channel will feature live shows and DJ sets from some of the biggest names in the EDM scene.

“We are very excited to be launching BPM, the first 24/7 EDM channel on satellite radio,” said Scott Greenstein, President and Chief Content Officer at SiriusXM. “BPM will provide fans of this burgeoning music genre with a curated listening experience that is not available anywhere else.”

EDM is one of the fastest-growing genres in the world, with global revenues expected to reach $6.9 billion by 2017. SiriusXM’s new channel will give listeners across North America access to the best in EDM 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

SiriusXM’s electronic dance music channel will be commercial-free

SiriusXM will be launching a new, commercial-free electronic dance music channel on December 24, 2016. The new channel will feature music from global DJs and producers, including Afrojack, Armin van Buuren, Avicii, Calvin Harris, Deadmau5, Diplo, Steve Aoki and Tiësto.

The channel will also feature dance hits from the ’80s and ’90s, as well as SiriusXM’s “Upfront” dance music show. “Upfront” features the latest mixes and exclusive interviews with top DJs and producers.
