Introduction

In this interview, we speak to the artist behind the song “An Alien”, a psychedelic rock song with a spine-chilling twist. We discuss the inspiration for the song, the creative process, and what it’s like to make music that is out of this world.

What inspired you to write “An Alien?”

In an interview, the songwriter of a psychedelic rock song explains what inspired him to write the song:

I was channel surfing one night and I came across this show about aliens. It was one of those shows where people claim to have been abducted by aliens. I was really fascinated by it and I started thinking about what it would be like to actually be an alien.

I started thinking about all the things that would be different for an alien, like the way they see the world and the way they experience life. I wondered what it would be like to be so different from everyone else and to not really fit in anywhere. That’s what inspired me to write “An Alien.”

Where did the idea for the song come from?

The song is about an alien who has come to Earth and is observing the human race. I was inspired by all the news stories about UFO sightings and abductions, and I wanted to create a song from the perspective of an extraterrestrial being.

What does the song mean to you?

“An Alien” is a song about, well, being an alien. It’s about feeling like you don’t belong, and feeling like everyone is against you. It’s about being different and feeling alone.

What is your favorite lyric from “An Alien?”

My favorite lyric from “An Alien” is the line, “I’m just a poor boy trying to survive.” I think it perfectly captures the sentiments of someone who feels like they’re struggling to get by.

What was the recording process like for “An Alien?”

The recording process for “An Alien” was definitely unique. We wanted to capture the feeling of paranoia and disorientation that comes with an unidentified flying object sightings, so we started by making a lot of strange noises with our instruments. We recorded everything on analogue tape to get that warm, vintage sound. Once we had all of the sounds we needed, we pieced them together in the studio until we had something that sounded like a song. It was a really fun process and we’re really happy with the end result.

What was it like working with producer Dave Fridmann?

It was great! Dave is so easy to work with and he really knows his stuff. We had a blast recording the album with him.

How does “An Alien” fit into the context of the album?

The song “An Alien” is the fourth track on the album and it fits into the context of the album very well. The song is about a person who feels like they are an outsider and doesn’t feel like they belong on Earth. The song is very psychedelic and has a lot of effects that make it sound like you are in space. The song also has a lot of reverb which makes it sound like you are in a cave.

What are your thoughts on the current state of the music industry?

The current state of the music industry is very exciting. I think we’re in a bit of a renaissance period where a lot of great new artists are starting to emerge and break through. It’s also a very interesting time because the industry is changing so rapidly with technology, which is creating new opportunities for independent artists. Overall, I think it’s a great time to be making music.

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?

In order to make it in the music industry, you need to be passionate about your craft and work hard to perfect your skills. There are no shortcuts to success, so don’t get discouraged if you don’t see results immediately. Be persistent and always strive to improve, and eventually you’ll reach your goals.
