Metallica- “Enter Sandman”

“Enter Sandman” is a song by American heavy metal band Metallica, released as the lead single from their self-titled fifth album, Metallica in 1991. The music was written by Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich. Vocalist Hetfield wrote the lyrics, which are based on a nightmare he had as a child.

The single entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart at number 16, and spent 72 weeks on the chart. In 2009 it was ranked number 29 of VH1’s 100 Greatest Songs of the ’90s. In October 2011, it was ranked number 30 in BBC’s Radio 1’s “Rock Week”. The song is also used regularly by sports teams around the world including Rugby Union side Leicester Tigers who play it before home games at Welford Road Stadium.

Slayer’s song “Raining Blood” is often considered one of the best metal songs of all time, and it has been covered by many other artists. The song is about a world that has been destroyed by nuclear war, and the only survivors are those who have been turned into zombies. “Raining Blood” is a tribute to the victims of nuclear war, and it is also a tribute to the genre of heavy metal itself.

“Cowboys from Hell” is a song by American heavy metal band Pantera. It was released in 1990 as the lead single from the band’s album of the same name. The song was written by guitarist Dimebag Darrell and vocalist Phil Anselmo.

The song’s title is a reference to the band’s 1982 debut album Metal Magic. It is one of Pantera’s most popular songs, and has been featured in multiple movies and television shows.

In 2009, “Cowboys from Hell” was ranked No. 51 on VH1’s 100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs list.

Sepultura- “Refuse/Resist”

Sepultura is a Brazilian heavy metal band that was formed in 1984. “Refuse/Resist” is a song that was released in 1993 and is a tribute to the metal genre. The song is about standing up to oppression and fighting for what you believe in.

Machine Head- “Davidian”

“Davidian” is a song by American heavy metal band Machine Head. It was released in 1994 as the second single from their debut album Burn My Eyes. The song peaked at number 29 on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.

The song was written as a response to the Waco siege that ended with the deaths of 76 people, including 24 children, at the hands of the US government. frontman Robb Flynn has said that he was “appalled” by the events and wanted to write a song that would “pay tribute to those who died needlessly”.

“Redneck” is a song by American heavy metal band Lamb of God. The song was released as the second single from their fifth studio album, Sacrament (2006).
