The King of Latin Music

It’s no surprise that a man who has written some of the biggest hits in Latin music would be called the King. And it’s no surprise that such a man would be named BMI Icon.

That man is Desmond Child, and on October 5, he was celebrated as part of the BMI Icon Series at the BMI Latin Awards in Las Vegas.

Child’s many accomplishments were detailed in an emotional video montage that included testimonials from some of the biggest names in the business, including Gloria and Emilio Estefan, Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony, Shakira, and Jon Bon Jovi.

As a songwriter, Child has written or co-written some of the most popular songs in Latin music, including “Livin’ La Vida Loca,” “La Bamba,” and “Hasta Que Te Conocí.” He has also worked with artists outside of the Latin world, including Cher, Kiss, Aerosmith, and Bon Jovi.

In addition to being a successful songwriter, Child is also a producer and a mentor to up-and-coming artists. He is currently working on a new album with Ricky Martin.

Reggaeton superstar Reykon is known as the “King of Latin Music.” He’s a singer, songwriter, and producer who has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Daddy Yankee, J Balvin, andozuna. Reykon was born in Medellin, Colombia, in 1987. He grew up listening to a variety of music genres, including salsa, merengue, bachata, and reggae. His love for music led him to pursue a career in the industry. Reykon began his musical career by appearing on various mixtapes and compilations albums. He gained exposure and notoriety for his appearances on these albums, which helped him secure a record deal with Universal Music Latino in 2012.

Reykon’s debut album, “El Lider,” was released in 2013 and features the hit single “No Te Ilusiones.” The album was a success, reaching number one on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart and selling over 100,000 copies worldwide. Reykon has released two more studio albums since then: “El Artista Del Año” (2015) and “Los Legendarios” (2017). He continues to tour extensively throughout Latin America and the United States.
