Artists

SA has a roster full of heavy hitters in the hip hop world. Some of the artists that we have worked with in the past include Dr. Dre, Cypress Hill, House of Pain, and more. We are always on the lookout for new talent to add to our label.

Cypress Hill

If you’re a fan of hip hop, then you’ve probably heard of Cypress Hill. This group was one of the first to bring Latin influences to the genre, and they’re still going strong after more than 25 years in the business.

Cypress Hill was formed in South Gate, California in 1988 by rappers B-Real and Sen Dog, along with DJ Muggs and producer Bobo. Their debut album, Cypress Hill, was released in 1991 and featured the hit single “How I Could Just Kill a Man.” The album went platinum and established Cypress Hill as one of the leading names in hip hop.

In 1993, Cypress Hill released their second album, Black Sunday. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart and went on to sell more than 2 million copies in the United States. Black Sunday featured the singles “Insane in the Brain” and “I Wanna Get High,” both of which were huge hits with fans.

Since their initial success, Cypress Hill has released eight more studio albums, including Skull & Bones (2000), which featured the hit single “Rock Superstar.” The group has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

House of Pain

House of Pain is an Irish-American hip hop group formed in 1992. The group is best known for its 1992 hit single “Jump Around”, which peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The group’s original lineup consisted of rappers Everlast ( Erik Francis Schrody) and Danny Boy ( Daniel O’Connor) and DJ Muggs ( Lawrence Muggerud). The trio released two albums before O’Connor left the group to pursue a solo career. He was replaced by DJ Lethal ( Leor Dimant), who joined the group for their third and final album, Feel My Pain.

After the release of Feel My Pain, House of Pain disbanded in 1996. In 2010, the group announced that they were reforming and planning to release a new album, but the album was never released. In June 2012, Everlast announced that House of Pain would be touring with Cypress Hill for the first time in 20 years.

Dr. Dre

Dr. Dre is an American record producer, rapper and entrepreneur. He is the founder and current CEO of Aftermath Entertainment and Beats Electronics, and was previously co-owner of Death Row Records. He has produced albums for and overseen the careers of many rappers, including Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent, The Game and Kendrick Lamar. He is credited as a key figure in the popularization of West Coast G-funk, a style of rap music characterized as synthesizer-based with slow, heavy beats. In 1996, he left Death Row Records to establish his own label, Aftermath Entertainment. He produced a album for the group named Compton that gave him a platform on which he launched his solo career in 1992 with the album The Chronic under Death Row Records to great success.

Dr. Dre is one of the richest figures in hip hop, having attained a net worth of $740 million as of 2018.
