A Peek Inside the Sound of Music House is a blog post that provides a behind-the-scenes look at the house used in the movie The Sound of Music.

Introduction

The Sound of Music is a musical with music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II and a book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse. It is based on the memoir of Maria von Trapp, The Story of the Trapp Family Singers. Set in Austria on the eve of the Anschluss in 1938, the musical tells the story of Maria, who takes a job as governess to a large family whose widowed father, Georg von Trapp, is soon to be married to a Nazi sympathizer, Countess Elsa Schräder.

The film version of The Sound of Music was released in 1965 and starred Julie Andrews as Maria and Christopher Plummer as Captain von Trapp. The film was directed by Robert Wise and produced by Argyle Enterprises. It won five Academy Awards, including Best Picture.

The house used for exterior shots in the movie is located at 2819 Broadway Street in Salzburg, Austria. It is currently a museum devoted to The Sound of Music and is open to the public for tours.

A Peek Inside the Sound of Music House

The Sound of Music house is a historic house located in Salzburg, Austria. The house was used as the filming location for the 1965 film The Sound of Music. The house is now a museum and is open to the public for tours.

The Living Room

The living room is where the family spent most of their time together. It is where they practiced their singing, and it is also where they held dance parties. The furniture in the room is very simple and utilitarian. The walls are a light cream color, and the floors are made of dark wood. There are large windows that let in a lot of light, and there is a fireplace that is used for warmth in the winter.

The Kitchen

The kitchen is one of the most important rooms in any house, and the Sound of Music house is no different. This was the room where all the family meals were cooked and eaten together, and it was also where Maria von Trapp spent a lot of her time teaching the children how to cook.

The kitchen in the Sound of Music house is a typical Austrian kitchen from the early twentieth century. It is very small, with a sink, a stove, and a small table in the middle. There is also a cupboard for dishes and a large pantry for food storage.

Despite its small size, the kitchen in the Sound of Music house was able to accommodate all seven children and their governess. This was becauseMaria von Trapp was an excellent cook and she knew how to make use of every inch of space in her kitchen.

Even today, the kitchen in the Sound of Music house is still used by the von Trapp family. They often host dinner parties and other events in this room, and it is always filled with the delicious smells of Austrian cooking.

The Bedrooms

The Sound of Music house has six bedrooms, each with its own unique style. The bedrooms are decorated with a mix of antique and modern furniture, and each has its own private bathroom.

The master bedroom is the largest of the six, and features a king-size bed, a fireplace, and a private balcony. The other bedrooms are all decorated in a similar style, with either twin or double beds, and some with private balconies as well.

The Bathrooms

one expense that the Von Trapp family had to forgo during their time in the Sound of Music house was running water. The house had a well, but no bathroom, and so the family had to make do with an outhouse. In the movie, the outhouse is shown as a quaint little building in the back yard, but in reality, it was a rather dreary and smelly place.

Despite the lack of running water, the Von Trapps were able to make do with what they had. The outhouse was equipped with a toilet and a sink, and the family used rainwater to fill up the sink for washing. They also had a bathtub that they would fill up with water and heat on the stove. This may not have been the most luxurious way to take a bath, but it got the job done!

Conclusion

wraps up our little tour of the Sound of Music house. As you can see, it’s a beautiful home that would be perfect for any family, especially one with seven kids! We hope you enjoyed this peek inside the Sound of Music house and that you’ll visit us again soon.
