Metallica-Hardwired

Metallica’s tenth studio album, Hardwired… to Self-Destruct, was released on November 18, 2016. The album was produced by Greg Fidelman, who also produced their previous album, Death Magnetic (2008). Hardwired… to Self-Destruct is a double album consisting of twelve songs, with a total length of 79 minutes.

Some of the tracks on the album include “Hardwired”, “Atlas, Rise!”, “Moth into Flame”, and “Spit Out the Bone”. The album received positive reviews from music critics, with many praising its return to the band’s thrash metal roots. Hardwired… to Self-Destruct debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart, making it Metallica’s sixth album to top the chart.

Megadeth-Dystopia

Formed in 1983, Megadeth is an American heavy metal band that has released fifteen studio albums, four live albums, six compilations, one EP, and forty-six singles. The group’s success has earned them twelve Grammy nominations and three wins. Dystopia is the band’s most recent album, which was released in January of 2016. It is their first album in four years and reached number three on the Billboard 200 chart.

Anthrax-For All Kings

For All Kings is the eleventh studio album by American thrash metal band Anthrax. It was released on February 26, 2016, by Megaforce Records. It is the band’s first album to feature guitarist Jon Donais, replacing Rob Caggiano, and the first album with bassist Frank Bello since Worship Music (2011). Charlie Benante explained that Scott Ian came up with the album’s title because it sounded “noble”.

The album received critical acclaim. AllMusic’s Thom Jurek praised the album, calling it “the most important revitalization of their career since Among the Living”, and awarded it 4.5 out of 5 stars. Blabbermouth.net also gave For All Kings positive reviews, with Don Kaye stating: “This is one of those cases where what you hope for turn out to be true: Anthrax haven’t just made a good album here – they’ve made a great one.”

They are one of the “Big Four” thrash metal bands with Metallica, Megadeth, and Slayer; Anthrax is also one of the early thrash metal bands to emerge from the East Coast. The band has sold over 10 million records worldwide.

Their 2016 song “Monster at the End” was ranked by Loudwire as one of the best metal songs of 2016.
