It’s hard to believe, but 2015 is coming to a close. As we say goodbye to another year, let’s take a look back at the top 40 pop songs that made the year such an amazing one for music. From Adele to Justin Bieber, these are the tracks that dominated radio airwaves and dominated the Billboard charts. So without further ado, here are the top 40 pop songs of 2015!

In 2015, the top 40 songs were overwhelmingly dominated by female artists. In fact, 26 of the 40 songs were sung by women. This is a sharp contrast from 2014, where only 17 of the top 40 songs were performed by women.

There are a number of possible explanations for this shift. One is that 2015 was simply a better year for women in music. Another possibility is that the ubiquity of streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music has made it easier for listeners to find and enjoy music from a wider range of artists, including more female performers.
