As we move further into the 21st century, it’s clear that electronic music is here to stay. With new technology constantly emerging, the possibilities for creativity are endless. This past year has seen some incredible electronic tracks released, so it was tough to narrow it down to just 10. But after much deliberation, we’ve come up with a list of what we believe are the top 10 electronic tracks of 2014.

What is electronic music?

Techno is a fast-paced and often repetitive type of electronic music that was created in the 1980s. It is usually characterized by a heavy beat and synthesized sounds.

House is a slower and more soulful type of electronic music that originated in the 1980s. It often features a repetitive 4/4 beat and is often associated with the gay nightlife scene.

Dubstep is a fast-paced and often dark type of electronic music that emerged in the early 2000s. It is characterized by its heavy bass lines and distorted synth sounds.

Trance is a slower and more uplifting type of electronic music that often features layered melodies. It became popular in the 1990s and 2000s with the rise of rave culture.
