Flume

Harley Edward Streten (born 5 November 1991), better known by his stage name Flume, is an Australian electronic music producer. His self-titled debut studio album, Flume, was released on 9 November 2012 to positive reviews, topping the ARIA Albums Chart and reaching double-platinum accreditation in Australia. His second studio album, Skin, was released on 27 May 2016 to similar success, making it to number one on the ARIA Albums Chart and receiving double platinum accreditation. The album won the Best Dance/Electronic Album at the 2017 Grammy Awards. As of November 2018, Flume has sold more than eight million copies worldwide.

Flume is considered to be an innovator in future bass and electronic music. His signature sound employs reuse of hip-hop samples layered among glitchy beats and often other samples from various genres including indie rock and R&B. Glitch hop and Wonky music evolved following his breakthrough success with songs “Holdin On” and “Never Be Like You”.

Harley Edward Streten was born on 5 November 1991. He grew up in outside Sydney in Manly Vale on the Northern Beaches of New South Wales with a younger sister, who would later go on to co-direct some of his music videos under the moniker “Boston”; their father is a videographer. His mum introduced him to early punk rock like The Clash when he was 12 and he became interested in electronic dance music after being given a copy of Aphex Twin’s Selected Ambient Works II when he was 13 or 14 years old.

Calvin Harris

Calvin Harris is a Scottish record producer, DJ, singer, and songwriter. His debut studio album I Created Disco was released in June 2007 and it spawned two UK top 10 singles, “Acceptable in the 80s” and “The Girls”. His second studio album Ready for the Weekend (2009) reached number one on the UK Albums Chart and includes the chart-topper “I’m Not Alone”, as well as the top 10 singles “Ready for the Weekend” and “Flashback”.

“Never Be Like You” is a single by Australian electronic musician Flume, featuring the vocals of Canadian singer Kai. It was released on 4 February 2016 as the lead single from Flume’s second studio album, Skin. The song was written by Flume, Kai and Jonathan Kong, and produced by Flume. “Never Be Like You” received positive reviews from music critics upon release and was a commercial success, reaching number one in Belgium and the top five in Australia, Canada and Finland. The song was certified platinum in Australia, Canada and the United States. An accompanying music video for the song was released on 4 February 2016.
