The National- “I Am Easy to Find”

The National’s eighth album, I Am Easy to Find, is out today on 4AD. The record features contributions from musicians such as Sharon Van Etten, Lisa Hannigan, Kate Stables (of This Is the Kit), Mina Tindle, Eve Owen, and Brooklyn Youth Chorus. This is the first album The National has released since their 2017 Grammy Award-winning record Sleep Well Beast.

I Am Easy to Find was produced by Mike Mills (of R.E.M.), and the majority of the album was recorded in New York at Long Pond Studio in Hudson Valley and electrical audio in Chicago. The National worked with Mills over a two-year period on the album, which began with an 18-day session in upstate New York where they improvised and experimented with sounds and arrangements.

The album also features a 24-minute film of the same name directed by Mike Mills and starring Alicia Vikander. The film was shot throughout the United States and Europe, and it follows the life of a woman from birth to death. I Am Easy to Find is available on all major streaming services, and the physical formats include a double CD set, a deluxe triple LP set on 180-gram vinyl, and a limited edition clear vinyl pressing.

Vampire Weekend- “Father of the Bride”

Vampire Weekend’s new album, “Father of the Bride,” is one of the most anticipated releases of the year. The band has been on hiatus since 2013, and fans have been eagerly awaiting new music. “Father of the Bride” is a double album, and it’s full of catchy, poppy tunes. It’s a great album to listen to if you’re looking for something upbeat and fun.

Weyes Blood- “Titanic Rising”

Weyes Blood, the musical project of Natalie Mering, is back with her best album to date. On Titanic Rising, Mering delivers 10 beautifully crafted rock songs that explore themes of mortality, love, and hope. The result is a gorgeous and unique album that is sure to please fans of Weyes Blood’s previous work as well as new listeners.

Angel Olsen- “All Mirrors”

“All Mirrors” is the upcoming fourth studio album by American singer-songwriter and musician Angel Olsen, due out on October 4, 2019, on Jagjaguwar Records. The album was announced on June 28, 2019, with the release of the lead single, “Lark”. All Mirrors was written and produced by Olsen, with additional production by John Congleton.

Big Thief- “U.F.O.F.”

Inviting listeners into their world with the opener, “Contact,” Big Thief’s third album is a gorgeous and disarming record. With elements of folk, rock, and country, it is a stunning piece of work that is both intimate and colossal. Over the course of its 43 minutes, “U.F.O.F.” cements Big Thief as one of the most exciting bands around.

Bon Iver- “i,i”

i,i is the fourth studio album by American indie folk band Bon Iver. It was released on August 9, 2019, through Jagjaguwar. The album follows a 2017 eponymous album, also known as Bon Iver, as well as two albums under the moniker Volcano Choir.

On July 11, 2019, the band announced the album with a teaser trailer. The album was produced by frontman Justin Vernon and Brad Cook. Members of The National, Moses Sumney, Wye Oak, and Velvet Negroni make guest appearances on the album.

“i, i” was preceded by two singles: “U (Man Like)” and “‘We'”. To promote the album, the band performed on several late-night talk shows and embarked on a North American tour. The album received positive reviews from music critics and debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 chart.

JPEGMAFIA- “All My Heroes Are Cornballs”

All My Heroes Are Cornballs is the third studio album by American rapper JPEGMAFIA, released on September 13, 2019, on EQT Recordings. It follows his previous album Veteran (2018). All My Heroes Are Cornballs was preceded by four singles: “Jesus Forgive Me, I Am a Thot”, “Beta Male Strategies”, “Free the Frail” and “Kenan Vs. Kel”.

The album received critical acclaim upon release. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream publications, the album received an average score of 86, based on 12 reviews.

Pitchfork placed it at number 3 on its list of the 50 best albums of 2019. NME placed it at number 20 on its list of the 50 best albums of 2019.

Billie Eilish- “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?”

Billie Eilish’s debut album, “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?”, is one of the most anticipated releases of 2019. The young artist has been making waves in the music industry for the past few years, and her first full-length album is sure to be a hit. In anticipation of the release, Eilish has released a few singles, including “bury a friend” and “you should see me in a crown”.

Lana Del Rey- “Norman Fucking Rockwell!”

Lana Del Rey’s “Norman Fucking Rockwell!” is one of the top indie rock songs of the moment. The song is from the album of the same name and was released on August 30, 2019.

The song is a mid-tempo ballad with a soft rock sound. Lana Del Rey’s lyrics are about a relationship that is not working out. The song’s title comes from the name of the album, which is named after Lana Del Rey’s favorite artist, Norman Rockwell.

Lana Del Rey’s “Norman Fucking Rockwell!” has received critical acclaim. Pitchfork gave the song a 9.0 out of 10, calling it “a perfect distillation of what [Lana Del Rey] does best.” The Guardian gave the song a 4 out of 5 stars, calling it “a gorgeous, melancholy masterpiece.”

Tyler, the Creator- “IGOR”

“IGOR” is the upcoming fifth studio album by American rapper Tyler, the Creator. It is scheduled to be released on May 17, 2019, through Columbia Records. The album’s lead single, “Earfquake”, was released on May 6.

Early pressings of the vinyl editions of the album come with a download card that allows purchasers to download two extra tracks, “Are We Still Friends?” and “Gone, Gone / Thank You”.
