Romeo Santos, often referred to as the “King of Bachata,” released “Hilito” in 2014. The song quickly became a smash hit, reaching the top of the Latin music charts and solidifying Santos’ place as one of the most popular Latin artists in the world. “Hilito” is a love song that tells the story of a man who is deeply in love with a woman who does not reciprocate his feelings. Although she does not love him back, he cannot help but continue to adore her. The lyrics are written in Spanish, but the melody is universally catchy and beautiful.

“El Taxi” by Osmani Garcia and Pitbull

“El Taxi” by Osmani Garcia and Pitbull was one of the top Latin music hits of 2015. The song is a cover of a 1970s disco hit by Cuban singer La Lupe, and it became an international Latin dance anthem. The original version of “El Taxi” was released in 2015, but the remix featuring Pitbull was released in 2016 and quickly rose to the top of the charts.
