“Mi Gente” peaked at number three on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number one on the Hot Latin Songs chart, becoming J Balvin’s first single to top the latter. The song became the first mostly-Spanish language song to reach the top ten of the Hot 100 since “Macarena” in 1996, as well asBeyoncĂ©’s first ever single to reach the top ten of that chart. The song also reached number one in Spain and Chile, while peaking within the top ten in many other countries.
