Both songs are sad, but ultimately hopeful

Both songs are sad, but ultimately hopeful. They are about loss, but also about rebirth and hope. They both reflect the British attitude towards death and dying, which is that it is a natural part of life and should be accepted with dignity.

The first song, “The Water Is Wide,” is about a young man who is dying of an incurable disease. He know he is going to die soon, but he is not scared. He is at peace with his fate and looks forward to the next life.

The second song, “She Moved Through the Fair,” is about a young woman who dies in childbirth. Her lover mourns her death, but he knows she will be reborn in the next life and they will be together again.
