UKF Dubstep 2011’s History

Launched in early 2011, UKF Dubstep was a response to the ever-growing popularity of dubstep. The channel’s stated intention was “to represent the best in dubstep music”, and it has become one of the most popular sources for the genre.

However, UKF Dubstep has not been without its controversies. In 2015, the channel was accused by some viewers of becoming too commercialised and flooded with tracks from major labels and “EDM-style” dubstep producers. This led to the creation of a petition calling for a return to the channel’s roots, which garnered over 4,000 signatures.

In spite of this, UKF Dubstep remains one of the most popular channels for the genre, and continues to showcase a wide variety of dubstep artists and styles.
