Jeff Bhasker assisted the artists in co-writing and producing the track, while additional writing credits were attained by Philip Lawrence, Nicholas Williams, Lonnie Lee Simmons, and Brody Brown; with its composition drawing influence from James Brown and George Clinton. “Uptown Funk” achieved commercial success by topping multiple record charts, including the Billboard Hot 100 for fourteen weeks; this made it both Ronson’s and Mars’ longest-running UK number one single as solo artists (upon its eleventh week on the chart), marking also Ronson’s longest-running US number one single.

“Uptown Funk” won two Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, as well as receiving nominations for Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella and Best Music Video.
