Introduction

We Will Rock You – The Musical is holding auditions for the following roles:
-Principal Male 1: Early 20s to 30s. A hunky, ripped leading man type with a great comic timing. Pop/rock tenor voice.
-Principal Male 2: Late 20s to early 40s. Witty, smart and charming. A natural born rebel and ladies man. Pop/rock tenor voice
-Principal Female 1: Late 20s to early 40s. A feisty, fun-loving rock chick with a great sense of humor. Pop/rock mezzo-soprano voice
-Principal Female 2: Early 20s to 30s. A sweet, innocent and incredibly cool girl who is the object of affections for both male leads. Pop/rock mezzo-soprano voice

What is We Will Rock You?

We Will Rock You is a musical by British rock band Queen and Ben Elton. The musical tells the story of a group of Bohemians who fight against an evil Globalsoft company that controls the world. The musical includes some of Queen’s greatest hits, such as “We Are the Champions”, “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “Another One Bites the Dust”, and “Killer Queen”.

The Plot

We Will Rock You – The Musical is a musical based on the songs of British rock band Queen with a book by Ben Elton. The musical tells the story of a group of Bohemians who struggle to restore the free exchange of thought, fashion, and live music in a distant future where everyone dresses, thinks and acts the same.

The Characters

Below is a list of the characters in We Will Rock You – The Musical. Please note that these are the minimum requirements and we will consider exceptional actors who do not quite fit the mold.

The Heroes
-Garth: A headstrong, twenty-something rebel with a cause. He is attracted to rebelQueen and is determined to overthrow GlobalSoft and return the power to the people. Must be a strong singer with great stage presence.
– RebelQueen: A fierce, independent woman who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go after it. She is attracted to Garth and joins his fight against GlobalSoft. Must be a strong singer with great stage presence.

The Villains
-Killer Queen: The tyrannical ruler of GlobalSoft. She will stop at nothing to maintain her power and crush any rebellion against her. Must be a strong singer with great stage presence.
-Buddy: Killer Queen’s right-hand man. He is fiercely loyal to her and carries out her orders without question. Must be a strong singer with great stage presence

The Music

The music of “We Will Rock You” is written by British rock band Queen with contributions from Ben Elton. The musical is set in the future where rock music has been banned by a group called “Globalsoft.” The main characters, Galileo Figaro and Scaramouche, set out to find rock music and save it.

The musical features several of Queen’s most popular hits, including “We Are the Champions”, ” Bohemian Rhapsody”, and “Another One Bites the Dust”. It also features some lesser known but still great tracks like: “Somebody to Love”, “Fat Bottomed Girls”, and “Killer Queen”.

The Set

The set for We Will Rock You is purposely versatile in order to facilitate a number of different venue types from an array of countries. It needs to be extremely adaptable and transportable so that it can change location quickly, but also look different enough in each city to make people want to see the show again. The set is designed to look like a post-apocalyptic world that has been taken over by a globalized society, and all traces of individuality have been eradicated.

The Costumes

The costumes for We Will Rock You are inspired by the iconic style of Queen and their performances during the 70s. The look is colourful, fun and flamboyant, and we want our actors to feel comfortable and confident in their costumes. We will be providing all costume items for the show.

The Auditions

We Will Rock You – The Musical is holding auditions for rock performers. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be in a brand new musical production, directed by the legendary Trevor Nunn.

Auditions will be held on Monday 21st May and Tuesday 22nd May at the Dominion Theatre, London.
