From New York City and Los Angeles to Detroit and Seattle, each city has its own unique sound that has influenced the music scene for decades. But when it comes to heavy metal, which city in the United States can lay claim to being the most metal?

Data Collection

To answer this question we must first collect data on US cities and the number of heavy metal bands playing in each one. This data can be found in a few different ways. The most accurate way would be to contact each city’s music venues and ask how many metal bands have played there in the past year.
