His life

Ziggy Marley was born in Kingston, Jamaica, on October 17, 1968. The youngest son of reggae icon Bob Marley, he spent his earliest years surrounded by music and musicians. After his father’s untimely death in 1981, Ziggy and his brothers step-brothers Stephen, Rohan, and Ky-Mani Marley began their own musical careers.

In 1988, Ziggy released his debut album, “Jahmekya”. The album was well-received and Ziggy’s career took off. He has gone on to release 13 additional studio albums, including the Grammy-winning “Ziggy Marley & The Melody Makers” and “Wild and Free”. His latest album, “Rebellion Rises” was released in 2018 to critical acclaim.

While best known for his work as a reggae musician, Ziggy is also an accomplished actor and philanthropist. He has starred in movies such as “ Shark Tale” and “Soul Food”, and has done voice-over work for television shows like “Handy Manny”. In 2006, he founded the nonprofit organization United Nations of Consciousness (UNOC) to support various charitable causes.
