The 2018 Soul Train Music Awards were held in Las Vegas on November 11, and we have all the highlights for you!

Introduction

The annual Soul Train Music Awards were held on November 18, 2018 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. The awards show was hosted byandra Iman . The night featured performances by past and present Soul Train honorees including Anita Baker, Babyface, Bell Biv DeVoe, Boyz II Men, Christina Aguilera, H.E.R., Johnny Gill, Ledisi, Luther Vandross, Mariah Carey, New Edition, Stevie Wonder, Tamar Braxton and more.

The Awards Show

The awards show will be held on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. The event will be hosted by Erykah Badu and will feature performances by Mariah Carey, Miguel, H.E.R., Lionel Richie, The Roots, Ella Mai, Usher and many more.

The Winners

And the winners are… The 2018 Soul Train Music Awards were held on Sunday, November 25th in Las Vegas at the Orleans Arena and celebrated the best in R&B, soul, and hip-hop music from the past year. Here is the complete list of winners:

The Performances

The show started off with a performance by Sheila E. She performed a medley of some of her biggest hits, including “Glamorous Life” and “Hollywood”. Sheila E. was followed by a performance by Tank, who sang his hit single “When We”.

After Tank’s performance, the host of the show, Erykah Badu, took to the stage to perform her new single “Window Seat”. Badu was joined on stage by a group of dancers who performed alongside her.

Following Badu’s performance, Angela Simmons and Romeo Miller took to the stage to present the award for Best R&B/Soul Male Artist. The award was won by Bruno Mars.

Mars was not in attendance to accept his award, but he did send a video message which was played for the audience. In his video message, Mars thanked the Soul Train Music Awards for their support throughout his career.

After Mars’ video message, Sevyn Streeter took to the stage to perform her new single “Yernin’”. Streeter was joined on stage by a group of dancers who performed alongside her during her performance.

Following Streeter’s performance, Ariana Grande and Big Sean took to the stage to present the award for Best New Artist. The award was won by Khalid.

Khalid was not in attendance to accept his award, but he did send a video message which was played for the audience. In his video message, Khalid thanked Ariana Grande and Big Sean for their support throughout his career.

After Khalid’s video message, Lil Wayne took to the stage to perform his new single “Uproar”. Wayne was joined on stage by a group of dancers who performed alongside him during his performance.

Following Lil Wayne’s performance, Jason Derulo took to the stage to perform his new single “Goodbye”. Derulo was joined on stage by a group of dancers who performed alongside him during his performance

Conclusion

The Soul Train Music Awards were held on November 25, 2018, at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The award show was hosted by Erykah Badu. The awards ceremony recognize the best in soul, R&B and hip hop music from the previous year.

The 2018 nominees were led by Daniel Caesar with seven nominations, followed by Khalid with six. SZA and H.E.R., who were both fresh off their wins at the BET Awards earlier in the year, received five nominations each.

Childish Gambino was the big winner of the night, taking home four awards, including album of the year for his number one record “Awaken, My Love!”. Bruno Mars also won multiple awards, including song of the year for his hit “That’s What I Like”.
