One of Belgium’s most promising techno exports, Charlotte de Witte emerged in the early 2010s with a string of sturdy, floor-filling EPs. Born in Kortrijk and raised in Ghent, she first studied classical piano before turning her attention to electronic music production. After releasing her early singles on respected imprints like Turbo Recordings and Sleaze Records, de Witte issued her proper debut EP, The Healer, on drum’n’bass label Hospital Productions in 2015. The following year, she debuted on Joris Voorn’s Green label with another five-tracker, Welcome to the Jungle. That same year, she established her own imprint, KNTXT (pronounced “contact”), and used it as a platform to release music by fellow Ghent residents like Amelie Lens and I Hate Models. In 2017, de Witte was tapped to mix the fourth installment of the fabric Presents series; that same year, she released her second EP for Green as well as a split single with Dasha Rush on Figure SPC. In 2018, de Witte collaborated with Survey on an EP for Nigel Richards’ Tresor label entitled Sehnsucht.
