Introduction

The Billboard Latin Music Awards is an annual awards show that recognizes the most popular albums, songs, and performers in Latin music, as determined by the Billboard magazine charts. The award show is produced by Telemundo and dick clark productions. It airs live on Telemundo each April, and is subsequently rebroadcast on Univision.

The first-ever Billboard Latin Music Awards ceremony was held on April 23, 1994, at the Miami Marriott Dadeland Hotel in Miami, Florida. The show was broadcast live on the Univision television network. Ricky Martin was the first-ever winner of the Top Latin Artist award.

In 2021, the 28th annual Billboard Latin Music Awards will air live on Thursday, April 29 at 8pm ET/PT from the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida.

Awards Ceremony

The 2021 Billboard Latin Music Awards is an awards ceremony that will be held on April 15, 2021, at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida. The event will broadcast live on Telemundo. It will honor the best-performing Latin albums and songs in the United States during the eligibility period of February 1, 2020, to February 28, 2021.

Winners

Alejandro Sanz and Daddy Yankee were the big winners at the 2021 Billboard Latin Music Awards, taking home five awards each. Sanz was named Latin Artist of the Year, while Daddy Yankee won awards for Latin Artist of the Decade,Latin Pop Artist of the Year and Latin Pop Album of the Year. Rounding out the top five winners was Bad Bunny, who won four awards, including Latin Rhythm Artist of the Year and Latin Rhythm Album of the Year.

Other notable winners included Ozuna (Latin Songwriter of the Year), Romeo Santos (Latin Male Artist of the Decade), J Balvin (Latin Male Artist of the Year) and Karol G (Latin Female Artist of the Year).

Performances

The 2021 Billboard Latin Music Awards will feature live performances by some of the biggest names in music.

The show will open with a special performance by J Balvin, who is nominated for a whopping 14 awards. Other performers include Bad Bunny, Ozuna, Ricky Martin, Shakira, and more.
