The 2021 Latin Billboard Music Awards were held on April 29 and featured some of the biggest names in Latin music. Here are the winners in the main categories.
J Balvin
J Balvin won the award for Top Latin Album at the 2021 Latin Billboard Music Awards for his album Colores. He also won the award for Top Latin Song for his song “Mi Gente”.
Won for Top Latin Artist
Colombian rapper J Balvin has won the top Latin artist at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards, marking the third time he has claimed the title.
The reggaeton star, who was also nominated for top social artist (a category he has won four times), took home the prize Sunday night during the awards show, which aired live on NBC from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Other winners in the Latin categories included Bad Bunny and Ozuna, who were both recognized as top Latin male artists, while Rosalía took home the prize for top Latin female artist. CNCO was named top Latin group, while Maluma won in the category of top Latin male artist of the year.
Won for Top Latin Album
J Balvin became the winner of the Top Latin Album at the 2021 Latin Billboard Music Awards, held on Thursday (April 29).
The Colombian reggaetonero’s album ‘Colores’ won the honor, beating out albums by Bad Bunny, Ozuna, Ricky Martin and Anuel AA.
‘Colores’ was released in March 2020 and debuted at No. 1 on the Top Latin Albums chart. It features the singles “Amarillo,” “Morado” and “Rojo.”
J Balvin was also nominated for Top Male Artist and Top Streaming Song, but lost out to Ozuna and Bad Bunny, respectively.
Ozuna
Ozuna won five awards at the 2021 Latin Billboard Music Awards, including Top Latin Album, Top Latin Song, and Top Latin Artist. Ozuna is a Puerto Rican singer, songwriter, and actor who specializes in the Latin trap and reggaeton genres.
Won for Top Latin Male Artist
Ozuna is a Puerto Rican singer, songwriter and record producer. He is considered one of the most important figures in Latin trap and reggaeton music. He has won several awards, including five Latin Grammy Awards, nine Premio Lo Nuestro Awards, eight Billboard Latin Music Awards and seven ASCAP Songwriter of the Year Awards. In 2019, he was included in Time’s 100 Most Influential People list.
Won for Top Latin Song
“Te Querer Vivo” became Ozuna’s fourth No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart in November 2020 and has spent 19 total weeks at the top of the chart. It is also Ozuna’s sixth No. 1 on the Latin Airplay chart, where it spent 12 weeks atop the tally.
Bad Bunny
The 2021 Latin Billboard Music Awards were held on April 29, 2021, at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida. The show was hosted by Alejandra Espinoza, Gaby Espinoza, and Pamela Silva Conde. Bad Bunny was the big winner of the night, taking home a total of nine awards, including Artist of the Year.

Karol G was the big winner at the 2021 Latin Billboard Music Awards, taking home eight awards, including Top Latin Albums Artist of the Year and Top Latin Albums Artist of the Year, Female. The Colombian singer was also honored with the Visionary Award, which recognizes artists who have broken barriers and made a significant impact in the Latin music industry.

Karol G is a Colombian singer and songwriter. Born Carolina Giraldo Navarro, she made her recording debut with the single “Los Años Pasan” in 2008. Her albums Unstoppable (2016), Ocean (2017), and Latin Grammy winner Rooted (2019) helped to establish her as a leading figure in contemporary reggaeton and Latin pop. She won her first Grammy Award at the 2021 ceremony for Best Latin Pop or Urban Album for her album Kilos por Segundo.
Won for Top Latin Album Artist
Karol G is a Colombian singer, songwriter and record producer. Her debut album, Unstoppable, was released in 2016 and reached number two on the US Latin Albums Chart. She has won numerous awards, including four Latin Grammy Awards and three Billboard Latin Music Awards.
At the 2021 Latin Billboard Music Awards, Karol G won Top Latin Album Artist.
Anuel AA
Anuel AA won big at the 2021 Latin Billboard Music Awards, taking home five awards total. He won for Top Latin Albums Artist of the Year, Latin Rhythm Albums Artist of the Year, Latin Rhythm Albums Producer of the Year, and Top Latin Albums Song of the Year.
Won for Top Latin Artist of the Year
Anuel AA is a Puerto Rican rapper and singer who rose to prominence in the late 2010s. He is best known for his songs “Sola”, “Ella Quiere Beber”, and “Bebe”. Anuel AA has won several awards, including the 2021 Latin Grammy Award for Best New Artist and the 2020 Latin Grammy Award for Song of the Year.
