Clarinet soloist Christopher Woods has been performing jazz and classical music for over 20 years. He has appeared as a soloist with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic.

Introduction

Clarinetist David Krakauer performs both jazz and classical music. He has recorded solo albums of both genres and has performed with many well-known orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic and the Cleveland Orchestra. Krakauer is known for his highly technical and virtuosic playing style.

About the Soloist

Jackson Willett is a classically trained clarinetist and jazz saxophonist. Jackson has a Bachelor of Music in Clarinet Performance from Furman University and a Master of Music in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas.Jackson has performed with the Greenville Symphony Orchestra, the South Carolina Philharmonic, and the Asheville Symphony Orchestra.

Clarinet Soloist

An accomplished clarinetist, Ms. Fobian has performed as a soloist with orchestras and ensembles throughout the United States. Ms. Fobian’s approach to the clarinet is both fresh and exciting, presenting a wide range of repertoire from jazz and contemporary works to standard classical literature.

Ms. Fobian has appeared as a soloist with the River Cities Symphony, The St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, The Orchestra of the Swan (UK), among others. She has also performed at festivals such as the Aspen Music Festival, Ravinia’s Steans Music Institute, and the Perlman Music Program.

Jazz and Classical Music

Soloist Scott Andrews performs jazz and classical music on the clarinet. He has studied with some of the world’s leading clarinetists and has a Masters degree in Music Performance from the University of Southern California. Scott has performed as a soloist with orchestras and ensembles throughout the United States and Canada, and his playing has been described as “exceptionally fluid” (Los Angeles Times) and “superb” (The Toronto Star).

The Performance

On Saturday night, the college’s clarinet soloist took the stage. Dressed in a black suit with a white shirt and a red tie, he looked every bit the part of a professional musician. He started his performance with a jazz piece, and then followed it up with a classical piece. The audience was entranced by his playing, and he received a standing ovation at the end of his performance.

The Venue

The solo performance will be held in the Recital Hall at the Blaisdell Center for the Performing Arts. The Blaisdell Center is located at 777 Ward Ave, Honolulu, HI 96814. The Recital Hall is located on the second floor of the Blaisdell Concert Hall.

The Program
