The core trio of Lennon, McCartney and Harrison, together since 1958, went through a succession of drummers, including Pete Best before asking Starr to join them in 1962. Blues (1960) and Viva Las Vegas (1964). His career continued into the 1970s with hits like “Suspicious Minds” (1969) and “Burning Love” (1972).
On August 16, 1977, Presley was found dead in his Graceland mansion in Memphis at the age of 42. The cause of death was ruled as a heart attack brought on by drug use.
The Rolling Stones
Formed in London in 1962, The Rolling Stones originally consisted of Mick Jagger (lead vocals), Keith Richards (guitar), Brian Jones (guitar), Ian Stewart (keyboards), Charlie Watts (drums), and Bill Wyman (bass). The band’s early material was heavily influenced by rhythm and blues artists such as Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, and Muddy Waters. In 1963, they released their debut album, “The Rolling Stones,” followed by their second album, “12 x 5.”
The Rolling Stones achieved commercial success in the UK with their third album, “Out of Our Heads,” which reached number one on the UK charts. The album’s lead single, “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,” became a worldwide hit, reaching number one in several countries. In 1966, the band released their fourth album, “Aftermath,” which was also a major success. The Killers are an American rock band formed in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2001 by members Brandon Flowers (lead vocals, keyboards) and Dave Keuning (guitar, backing vocals). The band’s name is derived from a logo on the bass drum head of a fictitious band called “The Killers”, featured in the New Order video “Crystal”.
The group has released five studio albums: Hot Fuss (2004), Sam’s Town (2006), Day & Age (2008), Battle Born (2012), and Wonderful Wonderful (2017). They have also released one live album, Live from the Royal Albert Hall (2009), as well as two compilations, Sawdust (2007) and Direct Hits (2013).
