The majority of critical reception for “All I Ask of You” has been positive. Amanda Holden, who played Christine in The Phantom of the Opera at the time of release, called it a “massive hit”.[2] Music critic Anton Dermota wrote that Sarah Brightman’s voice “soars triumphantly” in it.[3] AllMusic’s William Ruhlmann praised Cliff Richard’s performance of it as “skillful”.[4]
