Grammy Awards
Music lovers rejoice! The Grammy Awards are just around the corner, and with it comes a slew of new gospel music releases. This year’s nominees are an eclectic bunch, ranging from established artists like Kirk Franklin to newcomers like Crystal Aikin. No matter your taste in gospel music, there’s sure to be something for everyone. So without further ado, here are the new gospel music releases for 2016.
Winners
The GRAMMY Awards are awarded annually by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. They are given out in a number of different categories, with the majority being given to pop, rock, and country artists. However, there are also a number of awards given to gospel and Christian music artists as well. Here is a list of some of the biggest winners in the gospel and Christian music categories for 2016:

Nominees
The nominees for the 2016 Grammy Awards were announced yesterday, and some of gospel music’s biggest names are in the running.
The awards will be handed out on February 15th, and the nominees in the gospel category are:
-Travis Greene, for his album The War Is Over
-Tamela Mann, for her album One Way
-Hezekiah Walker, for his album Azusa: The Next Generation 2
-Kirk Franklin, for his album Losing My Religion
-Jean Baylor and Marcus Baylor, for their album The Journey (Live)
Other nominees in the general categories include Adele, Beyonce, Justin Bieber, Drake, and Rihanna.
Billboard Music Awards
The Billboard Music Awards is an annual awards show from Billboard Magazine. The show presents the year’s top 20 songs in various genres, as well as the top10 artists across all genres. In addition to the awards, the show features live performances from some of the year’s top artist. This year’s show will be held on May 22, 2016, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Winners
The Billboard Music Awards honors some of the biggest names in the music industry. The awards are based on sales data from Nielsen SoundScan and radio information from Nielsen BDS. This year’s winners in the gospel music category are as follows:

· Top Gospel Artist: Lecrae
Nominees
The nominees for the Billboard Music Awards’ gospel categories have been announced, and once again, Kirk Franklin leads the pack with seven nods. He is nominated for top gospel artist, top gospel album (for “Losing My Religion”), and top gospel song (for “Wanna Be Happy?”), among other awards.
Other nominees include Tamela Mann, Tasha Cobbs, Jonathan McReynolds, and Travis Greene. Greene is up for five awards, including top gospel artist and top gospel album (for “The Hill”).
The awards will be handed out on May 22nd at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
