M.I.A. (Mathangi “Maya” Arulpragasam) is a Sri Lankan hip hop artist, rapper, record producer, singer, songwriter, fashion designer, and visual artist. Born and raised in London, she moved to New York City at the age of eighteen to study fashion design at Pratt Institute. M.I.A.’s musical style has been described as alternative hip hop and electronica, while often incorporating elements of jazz, punk rock, reggae, techno and South Asian music.

The Knife
The Knife is a Swedish electronic music duo formed in 1999. The group consists of siblings Karin Dreijer Andersson and Olof Dreijer, who together also run the record company Rabid Records. Boucher released her debut album, Geidi Primes, in 2010 and her second album Halfaxa in 2011. To date, she has released four studio albums and one EP. Her music has been described as a combination of synth-pop, dream pop and electronic music. Grimes is also known for her unusual visuals and stage presence. In 2015, she was nominated for the Juno Award for Artist of the Year.
