Doja Cat
American singer and rapper Doja Cat has been announced as the winner of the Best New Artist award at the 2021 Soul Train Music Awards.
The awards ceremony, which is due to take place on 28th February, will recognise the best in R&B, soul and hip-hop music from the past year.
Doja Cat’s breakout hit ‘Say So’ propelled her to global stardom in 2020, and she is also known for her viral song ‘Mooo!’, which became a meme sensation.
Other nominees in the Best New Artist category included Giveon, Megan Thee Stallion, Summer Walker and YBN Cordae.
Roddy Ricch
Roddy Ricch, an American rapper, singer, and songwriter, was awarded the 2021 Soul Train Music Award for Best New Artist. Ricch’s debut studio album Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial was released in December 2019 and peaked at number one on the US Billboard 200. His single “The Box” topped the US Billboard Hot 100 in January 2020.
Megan Thee Stallion

“My Turn” – Lil Baby
“My Turn” is the second studio album by American rapper Lil Baby, released on February 28, 2020, through Quality Control Music and Wolfpack Global Music. It follows his collaboration album Harder Than Ever (2018), and his debut solo album Too Hard (2017). The album features guest appearances from Quavo, Offset, 42 Dugg, Rylo Rodriguez, Lil Uzi Vert and Young Thug. Record of the Year
The Record of the Year 2021 Soul Train Music Award goes to “No One” by Alicia Keys. “No One” is a song by Alicia Keys from her album As I Am. The song won the 2008 Grammy Award for Song of the Year and was nominated for the 2008 Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance.

Best Dance Performance
This year’s Soul Train Music Awards were a celebration of the best in black music and culture. The awards ceremony was hosted by actor and comedian Tiffany Haddish and featured performances by some of the biggest names in the music industry. The night’s big winner was Beyoncé, who took home the award for Best Dance Performance for her song “Formation.”
“Toosie Slide” – Drake

“Temperature” – Sean Paul
On November 29th, 2020, Sean Paul dance to his song “Temperature” at the 2021 Soul Train Music Awards. Wearing a black tank top and black pants with fire print, he started the performance in a smoky room with red lights. Towards the end of the performance, he was joined by two female dancers and they all performed a choreographed routine together.
This performance won the award for “Best Dance Performance” at the 2021 Soul Train Music Awards.
