When and where are the awards?

The 2021 Soul Train Music Awards are set to take place on November 7. The event will be held virtually for the first time in its history, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The show will air on BET at 8 p.m. ET/PT, and will be hosted by Tisha Campbell and Tichina Arnold.

Aretha Franklin will be honored with the Legend Award, while Tyler Perry will receive the Humanitarian Award. Jennifer Hudson will perform a special tribute to Franklin.

The 2021 Soul Train Music Awards nominees were announced in October. Megan Thee Stallion leads the pack with seven nominations, followed by Beyoncé with five nods.

Now in its 35th year, the Soul Train Music Awards is one of the longest-running and most prestigious awards shows in entertainment. The annual event celebrates the best in black music and culture, and this year’s show is sure to be full of stellar performances and memorable moments.

This year’s awards will be hosted by actor and comedian Lil Rel Howery, with a star-studded lineup of performers that includes R&B legend Lionel Richie, rap icon Snoop Dogg, soulful crooner John Legend, rising star H.E.R., and many more. In addition to the musical performances, the show will also feature tributes to late icons Chadwick Boseman and Cookie Lyon from Empire.
