The Miami Blues Society

The Miami Blues Society is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to the promotion, preservation and understanding of the blues and its music in Miami, Florida. We accomplish our mission through activities that include educational programs, special events and live musical performances.

The Miami Blues Society hosts a weekly radio show, “Miami Blues Alley”, on WMNF 88.5 FM HD-3 every Tuesday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm EST featuring the best in blues music from local, national and international recording artists. The show is hosted by society president, Jim Simpson, and produced by society vice president, Bob Westphal.

The society also produces the annual Miami Blues Challenge & Festival which showcase the talents of local and regional blues bands while raising money for the society’s educational activities.

Blue Note Lounge

Considered one of Miami’s best music venues, the Blue Note Lounge offers a great atmosphere to enjoy some of the best blues bands in the city. The lounge has a full bar and small stage, and the intimate setting is perfect for enjoying live music. The Blue Note Lounge features blues music every Wednesday night, and there is no cover charge.

The Poorhouse
