There are few pieces of classical music more beloved than Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos. And with good reason – they are some of the most beautiful, complex and moving pieces of music ever written.

Interestingly, the concertos were not actually written for the Brandenburg court, as the title suggests. They were actually written for Christian Ludwig, Margrave of Brandenburg-Schwedt, a general of the Hohenzollern army.
