It was also a year in which, after a decade of decline, country radio once again began to play more uptempo music, mostly in the form of so-called ” Broscientific ” songs like John Michael Montgomery’s ” I Can Love You Like That .” And, finally, 1995 was the year in which Shania Twain released her epochal album The Woman in Me , which would not only usher in a new era of blockbuster success for country music but also help to change the way that female performers were marketed within the industry.
