Learn how to make your own dubstep music right from your computer. You don’t need any fancy equipment or software, just a little know-how.

Introduction

Creating your own dubstep music can be a fun and rewarding experience. It can also be a great way to get your music noticed by record labels and promoters. If you’re serious about making a career in the music industry, then creating your own dubstep tracks is a great way to get started.

There are a few things you’ll need before you start making dubstep music. Firstly, you’ll need some good quality software to create your tracks with. I recommend using Ableton Live for this. It’s relatively affordable, and it’s one of the most popular DAWs (digital audio workstations) used by professional producers and DJs.

Secondly, you’ll need some good quality sound samples to work with. I recommend downloading a sample pack from a site like Splice Sounds or Loopmasters. These sample packs will usually contain a wide variety of sounds that you can use in your tracks, including drums, basslines, synths, and vocal samples.

Once you have these two things, you’re ready to start making dubstep music! In this article, I’m going to show you how to make a simple dubstep track using Ableton Live. I’ll also give you some tips on how to make your track sound more professional. Let’s get started!

What You Will Need

In order to make your own dubstep music, you will need the following:
-A computer with a DAW (digital audio workstation) installed. We recommend FL Studio, but you can use whatever you are comfortable with.
-A MIDI keyboard. This is not required, but it will make the process a lot easier.
-Some basic knowledge of music theory. This is not required, but it will help you create better sounding dubstep tracks.
-Patience and a willingness to learn. Making dubstep music is not easy, but it is definitely possible with a little bit of practice.

Making the Dubstep Beat

Making your own dubstep beat is not as difficult as you might think. All you need is a computer and some basic music-making software. Here’s a step-by-step guide to making a simple dubstep beat.

1) Choose a tempo. Dubstep is typically around 140 beats per minute (bpm).
2) lay down a bassline. A simple, four-on-the-floor kick drum pattern usually works well.
3) add a snare on the 2nd and 4th beats of the bar.
4) Layer in some hi-hats, playing 16th notes.
5) Play a dubstep riff or melody over the top. This can be created using synth sounds or recorded samples.
6) Add in some sound effects, like white noise sweeps and other noises, to fill out the soundscape.
7) Finally, add in some sub-bass frequencies to give the track some extra bass energy. A low-pass filter can help to give the sub-bass some definition and make it sit better in the mix.

Adding the Bass Line

Now that you have your basic beat, it’s time to add some bass. Dubstep is all about the bass, so this is a very important step.

There are a few different ways that you can go about creating a dubstep bass line. You can either use a synth or a sampler to create your bass line, or you can use a drum machine.

If you want to use a synth to create your bass line, you will need to find a sound that you like and then program it into your synth. Make sure that the sound is nice and fat so that it will translate well when it is mixed with the other elements of your track.

If you want to use a sampler to create your bass line, you will need to find a sound that you like and then sample it into your sampler. Once again, make sure that the sound is nice and fat so that it will translate well when it is mixed with the other elements of your track.

If you want to use a drum machine to create your bass line, you will need to find a sound that you like and then program it into your drum machine. Once again, make sure that the sound is nice and fat so that it will translate well when it is mixed with the other elements of your track.

Adding the Lead

If you want to create a club banger, or just want to add a little bit of an edge to your music, adding a lead is a great way to do it. This can be done with any software that allows you to record and edit audio, but in this guide we’ll be using Audacity. It’s free, and it’s what we’re most familiar with.

The first step is to find a sound that you want to use as your lead. It could be a synth line, or a sample from another song. Once you have your sound, it’s time to start recording.

Open up Audacity and create a new track. You can do this by going to the ‘File’ menu and selecting ‘New’. Then, go to the ‘Edit’ menu and select ‘Paste’. This will paste your sound into the track.

Now that your sound is in the track, it’s time to start editing it. The first thing you’ll want to do is make sure that it’s the right length. To do this, use the ‘Time Shift Tool’. This is the tool that looks like two arrows pointing in opposite directions.

Click and drag on the beginning or end of your sound until it’s the right length. You can also use the ‘Selection Tool’, which looks like a cross, to select part of your sound and then delete it by pressing ‘Delete’ on your keyboard, or by going to the ‘Edit’ menu and selecting ‘Delete’.

Once your sound is the right length, it’s time to add some effects. The first effect we’re going to add is reverb. This will make your sound seem like it’s coming from further away, and will make it blend in better with the rest of your track.

To add reverb, go to the ‘Effect’ menu at the top of Audacity and select ‘Reverb’. A new window will pop up with some options for how much reverb you want to add. For our purposes, we’re going to keep all of these options at their default values except for one – we’re going to change the value for ‘Room Size’ from 0.5 seconds to 1 second. This will make our reverb last twice as long as it would at the default setting, which will make it sound more natural.

Once you’ve made these changes, click ‘OK’ at the bottom of the window

Adding the Percussion

When it comes to dubstep, the drums are everything. In order to create a heavy, danceable beat, you’ll need to add a variety of percussive elements to your track. Start by adding a kick drum on every beat. You can use a sampled kick drum or create your own with a synthesizer. For extra thump, add a sub-bass on the beats as well.

Next, add hi-hats on the off-beats. You can use open hi-hats, closed hi-hats, or a combination of both. Experiment with different rhythms and patterns to find what sounds best. To fill out the sound even more, you can also add snares and claps on the off-beats as well. Just be careful not to overdo it – too many percussion elements will make your track sound cluttered and messy.

Finally, add some cymbals for texture and flavor. Ride cymbals are great for creating an atmospheric feel, while crash cymbals can add excitement and energy to your dubstep track.

Mixing and Exporting

Now that you have all of your tracks in place, it’s time to start mixing. This is where you’ll adjust the levels of each track so that they all sound good together. You’ll also add effects like reverb and delay to give the tracks more depth and atmosphere.

EQ is one of the most important tools for shaping the sound of your tracks. Each instrument or vocal has a different frequency range, and by EQing each track correctly, you can make them all fit together nicely. For example, if two tracks have a lot of low end, you can use a high-pass filter on one of them to thin out the sound and make room for the other track.

Once you’re happy with your mix, it’s time to export it as an .mp3 or .wav file so you can share it with the world!

Conclusion

Making your own dubstep music is easy, and anyone can do it with the right tools and a little bit of practice. You’ll need a computer with an internet connection, a DAW (digital audio workstation), and some basic knowledge of music theory. Once you have all of those things, you can start creating your own dubstep tracks today.
