“A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri

“A Thousand Years” is a song by American singer-songwriter Christina Perri, and serves as the lead single from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (2012). It was released on October 18, 2011, becoming Perri’s third commercial single from the album. The song was written by Perri and David Hodges. “A Thousand Years” received critical acclaim upon release, with critics complimenting Perri’s vocal performance and the song’s piano ballad composition. Commercially, it peaked at number 31 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States. A music video for the song debuted on October 26. Directed by Nancy Bardawil, it features scenes of Bella Swan (played by Kristen Stewart) and Edward Cullen (played by Robert Pattinson) from Breaking Dawn – Part 1 interwoven with footage of Perri singing in a forest.

The song was featured in several year-end lists of best songs of 2011, including Billboard’s and iTunes’. “A Thousand Years” won a Teen Choice Award for Movie Song and was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media and a People’s Choice Award for Favorite Song from a Movie.

“Don’t Worry, Be Happy” is a song by American musician Bobby McFerrin. Released in September 1988, it became the first a cappella song to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, a position it held for two weeks.
