The Modern Era

The modern era of the Edmonton Folk Music Festival began in 1980, when the festival was revived after a five-year hiatus. That year, the festival was held in Gallagher Park, and featured Performers such as James Keelaghan, Valdy, and John Allan Cameron.

Since then, the festival has been held annually in Gallagher Park. The park is located in downtown Edmonton, and features a beautiful view of the city skyline. The festival has continued to grow in size and popularity, and now features over 100 performers on 10 stages over 4 days.

Heritage Amphitheatre:
