At its core, electronic dance music is simply music made with electronic instruments and equipment. However, the term can encompass a wide range of styles, from House and Techno to Trance and Dubstep. Electronic dance music is often created with the help of a computer, but it can also be created using synthesizers, drum machines, and other electronic musical instruments.

This type of music first gained popularity in the early 1980s, when DJs began playing it at clubs in Europe and North America. In the 1990s, electronic dance music began to gain mainstream popularity, thanks in part to the rise of rave culture. These days, electronic dance music is one of the most popular genres in the world, enjoyed by millions of people around the globe.
