It’s been a big year for electronic dance music, with a number of new artists emerging and making a name for themselves. Here are the top electronic dance music artists of 2020.

The electronic dance music industry is one of the most booming genres in music right now. With the popularity of festivals like Tomorrowland and EDC, it’s no wonder that the genre has seen such a surge in popularity in recent years.

Martin Garrix

Martin Garrix is a Dutch DJ and electronic music producer. His song “Animals” topped DJMag’s Top 100 list in 2013, making him the youngest ever producer to do so. He has released numerous hit singles, including “In the Name of Love” with Bebe Rexha, “Scared to Be Lonely” with Dua Lipa, and “No Place” with Brooks.

Garrix began his musical career at age 14, when he started releasing his tracks on various electronic music forums. In 2012, he signed with Spinnin’ Records and released his debut single ” animals”, which became a worldwide hit and peaked at number one in several countries. Since then, he has released several more singles and collaborated with numerous other artists. He has also performed at major music festivals such as Tomorrowland and Ultra Music Festival.

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike are a Belgian DJ and record production duo composed of brothers Dimitri Thivaios and Michael Thivaios. They are also the eldest sons of Greek restaurateur Ioannis Thivaios.

Armin van Buuren

Armin van Buuren is a Dutch DJ and record producer. Since 2001, Van Buuren has hosted his radio show A State of Trance, which is broadcast to nearly 40 million listeners in 84 countries on over 100 FM radio stations. His 2008 album, Imagine, entered the Dutch album chart at No. 1, a first for a trance artist in Dutch music history. He was ranked the world’s No. 1 DJ by DJ Mag in 2015 and again in 2019.

Tiësto

Tiësto is a Dutch DJ and record producer from Breda. He was born in 1965 as Tijs Verwest. In 1997, he founded the record label Black Hole Recordings with Arny Bink, where he released the Magik and In Search of Sunrise series. Tiësto’s 2002 remix of Delerium’s “Silence” featuring Sarah McLachlan exposed him to a wider mainstream audience. In May 2013, Tiësto launched his radio show Tiësto’s Club Life on Sirius XM Radio.

Hardwell

Hardwell, alias Robbert van de Corput, is a Dutch big room house and electro house producer. Hardwell first gained prominence in 2009 with his bootleg of “Show Me Love vs. Be” and his subsequent chart success with his singles “Spaceman” and “Cobra”. He was ranked the World’s No. 1 DJ onDJ Mag in 2013 and again in 2014. In 2013, he founded his own record label, Revealed Recordings, while still in 2013 he co-founded X-borgs.

In early 2014 Hardwell collaborated with Lucky Date on the track “Get Down”, which saw a huge commercial success worldwide, reaching platinum status in Australia and gold status in the United States. In April 2014 he released his nationally successful single “Everybody Is In The Place”, which went platinum in Australia and received gold status in both Belgium and the Netherlands. In May 2014 he released the song “Encoded” as the main theme for Orlando’s Ultra Music Festival which was played at the closing ceremony of the festival.

David Guetta

David Guetta is a French DJ, music producer, and songwriter. He has sold over nine million albums and thirty million singles worldwide. In 2011, Guetta was voted as the number one DJ in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll.

Born in Paris, Guetta began to DJ at the age of fourteen. By sixteen, he was a resident DJ at a nightclub where he was first exposed to house music. He later began working as a remixer for record labels such as Virgin Records and Logic Records.

In 2001, Guetta released his debut album, Just a Little More Love, which contained the single “Just a Little More Love”, featuring Chris Willis. The album was not commercially successful in the UK or US but did chart in several European countries.

Guetta’s second album, Guetta Blaster (2004), contained the hit singles “Money” and “Stay”, both of which reached number one in the UK. The album was certified 2× Platinum by the federation of International Créditors (FIMI).

In 2006, Guetta released his third album, Pop Life. The album contained the singles “Love Is Gone”, “Baby When the Light”, and “Winner of the Game”.

In 2009, Guetta released One Love, which contained the hits “When Love Takes Over” (featuring Kelly Rowland), “Gettin’ Over You” (featuring Chris Willis, Fergie & LMFAO), “Sexy Bitch” (featuring Akon), and “Memories” (featuring Kid Cudi). The album was nominated for Best Electronic/Dance Album at the 52nd Grammy Awards.

In 2011, Guetta released his fifth album Nothing but the Beat. In 2013, Guetta released his sixth album titled Listen. The first single off the album,”Dangerous” was released on November 18th 2014 and featured Sam Martin. Afrojack

Afrojack is a Dutch music producer and DJ. He is one of the most popular EDM artists in the world, with a string of hits to his name. Afrojack’s signature sound is a mix of electro and house, with a heavy focus on the bassline. He is one of the few DJs who can regularly be found playing at both mainstream clubs and underground raves. Afrojack’s popularity has seen him collaborate with some of the biggest names in music, including Beyonce, Pitbull, and David Guetta.

Marshmello

One of the most popular electronic dance music artists of 2020 is Marshmello. Real name Christopher Comstock, the 28-year-old producer and DJ first rose to prominence with his 2016 single “Alone,” which was certified platinum in the US. He has since released a number of successful singles, including “Silence,” “Wolves,” and “Friends.” In 2018, he collaborated with British pop singer Anne-Marie on the song “FRIENDS,” which peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Alan Walker

Alan Walker (born in 1996 in Northampton, England) is a Norwegian-British record producer and DJ. Walker rose to fame in 2015 with the release of his single “Faded”, which received platinum certifications in over 10 countries. His debut studio album, Different World, was released in 2018.

Walker is known for his EDM-influenced Electro House music, and has collaborated with several other producers and DJs including Tiësto, Martin Garrix, Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Julia Michaels and Noah Cyrus.
