Halestorm

Lzzy Hale, the female frontwoman of American rock band Halestorm, has stated that she feels underestimated as a musician because she is a woman. In an interview with Metal Wani, Hale said: “I think women in rock and metal are still fighting for that equality and respect. I feel like sometimes we’re still living in that ‘70s era where it’s a boys club and you have to kind of prove yourself to be accepted.”

In This Moment

In This Moment is a heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 2005. The band’s current line-up consists of lead vocalist Maria Brink, bassist Jason Hook, rhythm guitarist Chris Howorth, and drummer Kent Diimmel. They have released five studio albums: Beautiful Tragedy (2007), A Star-Crossed Wasteland (2010), Blood (2012), Black Widow (2014) and Ritual (2017).

Their second album, A Star-Crossed Wasteland debuted at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 chart and sold 27,000 copies in its first week of release. The album’s lead single “Forever” peaked at No. 1 on the Active Rock chart in early 2011. In November 2012, they released their third album Blood which debuted at No. 14 on the Billboard 200 selling approximately 27,000 copies in its first week of release. To date In This Moment has sold over 700,000 albums worldwide.

The Agonist

The Agonist is a Canadian metal band from Montreal, Quebec, formed in 2004. The current line up consists of vocalist Vicky Psarakis, guitarists Danny Marino and Pascal (Paco) Jobin, bassist Chris Kells and drummer Simon Mckay.

The Agonist’s debut album, Once Only Imagined, was released in 2007 by Century Media Records to critical acclaim. The album reached number 3 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart in the United States, and the band toured extensively in support of it with such bands as Epica, Arch Enemy, Devildriver and Kittie. In 2009, The Agonist won aMetal Hammer Golden Gods Award for “Best Underground Band”.

In 2011 The Agonist released their second full-length album entitled Prisoners. It debuted on the US Billboard Heatseekers chart at number 17. tours with Kamelot and Shaaman followed its release. The band’s third studio album, Eye of Providence was released on February 24, 2015 via Century Media Records and napalm records. Alissa White-Gluz departed from the band prior to the release of the album to join Arch Enemy. Her replacement was the new vocalist Vicky Psarakis who had already worked with the band before as a studio singer on some tracks from Prisoners. Touring for Eye of Providence began in Europe with Napalm Death and then moved over to North America supporting Megadeth on their Dystopia World Tour along with Suicidal Tendencies and Children of Bodom.

Butcher Babies

Butcher Babies is an American heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California. The band was formed in 2010 by Heidi Shepherd and Carla Harvey, and currently consists of Shepherd, Harvey, Jason Klein and Chris Warner. They have released three studio albums, Goliath (2013), Take It Like a Man (2015) and Lilith (2017).

The band’s music is a mix of thrash metal, groove metal and nu metal, with influences from hardcore punk and industrial music. Their live shows are known for their energetic performances, which often include the use of pyrotechnics, blood and gore.

Founded in 1996 by vocalist Sharon den Adel and guitarist Robert Westerholt, Within Temptation is a Dutch symphonic metal band that has released six studio albums, two live albums, one compilation album, and one EP. The band has sold more than 3.5 million copies of their albums worldwide.

With a sound that combines gothic metal with symphonic and pop elements, Within Temptation has found success both in the Netherlands and abroad. In 2003, they were nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance for their song “Ice Queen.” In 2008, they won the Edison Award for Best Rock/Metal International Artist.

Within Temptation’s music often revolves around the themes of love, loss, and betrayal. Their latest album, Resistance (2019), is no different. The album’s lead single, “The Dance,” is a ballad about a woman who is struggling to let go of her past and move on with her life.
