Introduction

Fontaine is an American psychedelic rock band from the States Above the Blur. The band was formed in 2013 by brothers Michael and David Fontaine, and they have released two albums: The Psychedelic Rock Band from the States Above the Blur (2014), and their latest album, trippy (2017).

History

Fontaine is a Psychedelic Rock band from the States Above the Blur. The band was formed in 2006 by singer/songwriter Bradley Hathaway and guitarist Ryan Michael. The two had been playing together in various bands since 2001, but it wasn’t until they started writing together that they truly found their sound.

Formation

In the early days of their career, Fontaine was known as a psychedelic rock band from the States Above the Blur. The band was formed in the mid-’60s by Bob Dylan and his friend, poet and artist Richard Hell. The duo met while both were living in New York City’s Greenwich Village. Dylan and Hell had been influenced by the work of Beat poets such as Allen Ginsberg and Jack Kerouac, and they decided to form a band that would combine music and poetry.

First Album

In 2014, Fontaine released their first album, The States Above the Blur. The album was a critical success, and was praised for its unique sound and innovative songwriting. The album was a commercial success as well, reaching #1 on the Billboard charts.

Second Album

After their first album’s success, the band decided to quit their day jobs and move to Los Angeles to pursue music full-time. They initially struggled to find their place in the LA music scene, but eventually began to draw interest from record labels. In early 1968, they released their self-titled second album. The album was a critical success, but it failed to generate commercial buzz. The band continued playing shows and working on new material, but they were unable to gain traction.

In late 1969, the band decided to take a break from touring and focus on writing new material. They retreated to a cabin in the woods of upstate New York, where they spent the next several months writing and recording new songs. The resulting album, ‘Aurora,’ was released in early 1970 to critical acclaim. However, it failed to generate significant commercial interest and the band was once again dropped by their label.

Disheartened but undeterred, the band returned to touring and began work on their fourth album. ‘Cosmos,’ released in 1971, was their most successful album yet, spawning their only hit single, ‘ Mr. Blue.’ The album’s success allowed the band to tour extensively throughout 1972 and 1973. They toured Europe for the first time in 1973 and played shows with some of the biggest names in rock music, including Led Zeppelin and The Who.

By 1974, however, tensions within the band were beginning to mount. creative differences led to several members leaving the group, and Fontaine disbanded shortly thereafter.

Lyrics

Rolling in the deep,
Fading in the air,
our thoughts are taking over.

Diving into the unknown,
let the colors show,
all we have is each other.

Chorus:
We’re falling into a dream,
and everything is hazy.
All we know is that we’re lost in a sea of sound,
drifting further from the shore.
But we don’t mind,
because we know that we’ll find our way back home.
