Introduction

Formed in 1968, Grand Funk Railroad became one of the best-selling bands of the 1970s. The group’s name is a combination of the members’ nicknames, “Grand” Funk and “Railroad.” The band’s first album, On Time, was released in 1969 and was an instant success, reaching number one on the Billboard 200 chart.
