The Death of Funk Music

Funk music is a genre of music that originated in the late 1960s and early 1970s. It is characterized by a thick, groovy bassline, and often features horns, percussion, and vocals.

Funk music died in the late 1970s, due to a combination of factors. First, disco music became popular, and funk was seen as outdated. Second, the rise of hip hop led to a decline in interest in funk. Finally, many of the key figures in funk music, such as James Brown and Parliament-Funkadelic, disbanded or retired.

Today, funk music is enjoying something of a revival, thanks to artists like Bruno Mars and Lana Del Rey. However, it is not as popular as it once was.
